Selam graduated from the University of Toronto with an Honours Bachelor of Science in health sciences and psychology. She then went on to study Chiropody at the Michener Institute at the University Health Network in Toronto. Specializing in the management and prevention of diseases and disorders of the foot.

Prior to joining the Palermo Plus Physiotherapy and Wellness Centre, she worked in community health centers and private practices, where she developed a broad range of skills and competencies. Including ingrown toenail removal, warts, corns/calluses, fungal infections, orthotics, footwear education and diabetic foot care.

Selam is a registered member in good standing with the College of Chiropodists of Ontario as well as an active member with the Ontario Society of Chiropodists and the Canadian Federation of Podiatric Medicine.

Pierre is a Registered Physiotherapist, having earned his degree from McGill University in 2019. His graduate research with the Canadian Football League (CFL) in 2020 focused on a groundbreaking study that analyzed the incidence and types of injuries across multiple seasons. This experience has equipped him with the knowledge and expertise to handle complex sports injuries with confidence.

Arien Sirois is very excited to be a part of the Palermo Plus Physiotherapy and Wellness Team in Oakville. As a Registered Chiropodist, her role as a health care professional specializes in the assessment, management and prevention of diseases and disorders of the foot. Her educational background prior to becoming a Podiatric Foot Care Specialist includes an Honours in Health Sciences degree from the University of Ottawa. After her undergraduate degree she decided to pursue the study Chiropody (Foot Care) at the Michener Institute in Toronto. Prior to coming to Palermo Plus Physio and Wellness, Arien was at a multidisciplinary clinic focused on high risk and Diabetic footcare. She believes that appropriate podiatric footcare by a Chiropodist is an important and vital aspect of overall health. This includes everything from routine diabetic foot care and foot screenings to ingrown toenails and wart, fungus and callus treatment on patients of all ages.

In addition to her passion for footcare, Arien loves to travel, having visited many countries including Bolivia, Peru, Thailand, Indonesia, France, Japan, and immersing herself in the culture. On her spare time, her hobbies include skiing and snowboarding in the winter and golfing and mountain biking during the summer. She also loves to try new things and have recently started to learn how to windsurf. Abdullah is a graduate from the Physical Therapy program at the University of Toronto. Prior to that, he completed his Honours Bachelor of Science degree in Kinesiology at York University. Abdullah decided to pursue a career in physiotherapy after injuring himself a few times in University and learning how important maintaining your body in optimal condition is. He learned the importance of his rehabilitation in getting back to the activities he loves and keeping him active! He has many years of personal training experience with clients of all ages and abilities, and his knowledge combined with a desire to help others is what drives him to continue learning. Abdullah is committed to continuing to expand his skill set through post-graduate courses in order to best help his clients. Currently, he is certified in acupuncture (including dry needling), soft tissue release, and is pursuing his advanced manual therapy certification from the Orthopaedic Division of the Canadian Physiotherapy Association. Abdullah strongly believes in patient education as an essential tool in empowering patients to take an active role in their rehabilitation. He emphasizes a measured approach to recovery which incorporates lots of hands-on manual therapy techniques, and when appropriate therapeutic exercise progressions to challenge the body to reach its optimal state.
